Chris Beattie (born 20 March 1985 in Sunderland, U.K.) is an English actor.

He started acting when he was just 10 years old, playing the lead role of Oliver! in the amateur production of the same name for Centrestage Northeast (formerly St Aidan's Youth Theatre) based in his hometown of Grangetown, Sunderland. He has since appeared in several theatre productions including Bugsy Malone, Guys and Dolls, and The Music Man.
Chris's first professional job came after auditioning for the lead role in the feature film Purely Belter in 1999 whilst studying GCSE Drama at school.
He then went on to star in 3 consecutive series of Byker Grove, for CBBC, playing Joe Dakin, which, at the time was the longest running children's drama on television. Chris has recently completed filming on an episode of Alistair Fury, a children's drama set in Newcastle, based on a hugely successful series of children's books. This production will be aired in January 2008.
