Beattie burst onto the National Rugby League scene playing for the Cronulla Sharks, as a 24-year-old.

A regular in the Cronulla Sharks side, Beattle went on to represent Queensland in State of Origin in 2001.

Beattie was signed by the Perpignan-based Les Catalans Dragons in their inaugural Super League season in 2006, after five seasons with the Sharks.

Beattie signed a one year deal with the Sydney City Roosters for 2007.

Christopher Beattie now plays for the Lezignan Sangliers, a highly successful French Rugby League club.
