Chris Beam

Christopher Beam is an American journalist and a political blogger for Slate. He currently writes the online magazine's "Trailhead" blog, and has appeared as a guest on the Colbert Report.^[1]

Beam is a 2006 graduate of Columbia University, where he worked on The Blue and White. With fellow journalist and Columbia grad Nick Summers, Beam cofounded the popular Ivy League gossip blog IvyGate.

He is the son of Boston Globe columnist Alex Beam.
