Chris Amos (christened Christopher Edward Amos) (born 14 November 1974) in Brisbane, Australia is a media veteran.
On November 2007 Amos launched ReusaBags.com a United Kingdom based supplier for all non-woven polypropylene Bag for Life bags, the environment-friendly alternative to single-use carrier bags.
In June 2007 began publishing Buddy Map, the gay guide to Soho, London.
Since August 2006, Amos has worked for The Sun newspaper in London as a sub-editor for www.thesun.co.uk.
From the beginning of 2005, Amos was publisher of the UK’s biggest circulating free gay magazine Bent (ABC audit 42,000). He moved on to this position after being the editor since July 2001. When he was made editor the publication was titled NowUK, undergoing a name change as part of a marketing strategy in July 2004. Amos created the magazine’s gay lifestyle website www.bent.com that launched February 2005.
While at Bent, Amos interviewed numerous celebrities including Duran Duran, Alanis Morissette, Sophie Ellis Bextor, A-ha, Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Dannii Minogue, Pete Burns, Westlife, Goldfrapp, Erasure, Stephen Gately, Mark Owen, Blue (boy band), Graham Norton and Julian Clary.
Amos studied at the Queensland University of Technology from 1991, graduating with a Bachelor of Business degree majoring in Film & TV in 1998.
From 1998 to 1999, Amos set up Famous Amos Productions producing and directing the short films: Talizmania, Beauty in the Beast – The Vanity of Men, Triple Zed – The Untold Story.
From 1995 to 1999, Amos was the Entertainment Editor for the The Western Echo in Brisbane.
During 1997 to 1999, Amos worked at Optus Vision assisting in various aspects of production for a local community TV channel.
In 1991, Amos took part in the Young Achievement Australia, which provides unique opportunities for young Australians to actively participate in enterprise programs. Sponsored by Sheraton Hotel, Amos was rewarded with a place in the Grand Finals for his efforts. From 1997 to 1999, Amos helped as an advisor to students undergoing the program.
From the age of 12, Amos attended boarding school for 4 years at the prestigious Brisbane Grammar School. While here he was heavily involved in theatre and involved in many plays including Treasure Island, The Boyfriend, One Way Pendulum, A Man for All Seasons and Robin The Hood.
As a child, he attended Crescent Lagoon State School, in Rockhampton, Queensland.
