Chris Ahrens (born July 31, 1952 in San Bernadino, California) is a retired American professional ice hockey defenceman who played 6 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Minnesota North Stars. He is one of the few native Californians to play in the NHL.[citation needed]

Ahrens was drafted in the 5th round, 76th overall in the 1972 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota North Stars. Chris played very briefly for the Edmonton Oilers in 1977–78, their last year in the WHA.
