Talk:Chocolate City speech
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Well the mayor wanted a chocolate city and now they are killing each other. That was an inapropriate thing to say and if he were white and said vanilla he would be impeached by now. Mark, Detroit

[edit] Title
I've made some edits. One point I think is important is we should be clear that "Chocolate City speech" is an after the fact nickname by some commentators, not the event, announced subject, nor title. -- Infrogmation
[edit] Other ingredients
I moved the below editorializing speculative ramble here to the talk page, as Nagin's comments make no mention of sugar, carrageenan. -- Infrogmation 15:26, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ironically, chocolate milk consists of less than 20% cocoa solids and cocoa liquor in a majority milk-based (white) beverage. Chocolate milk also contains carrageenan, sugar and vanilla; although vanilla is a common pejorative term for suburban caucasian culture, it is unclear what is demographically suggested by sugar and suspensors.
[edit] racial majority
I think there should be a note in the article about the racial majority of voters being black if we're going to mention racial majority at all, in terms of the election. If the only voters were current residents, nagin surely wouldn't be mayor right now.Wbbigtymer 07:44, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] "related" section
I removed the "related" section as it is mostly editorializing / OR. It lies outside the scope of the article and the relevant information is already in the other sections or linked to in the see also section. - Che Nuevara 23:10, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
