Chowwara is a census town in Ernakulam district in the state of Kerala, India.

As of 2001 India census,[1] Chowwara had a population of 13,603. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Chowwara has an average literacy rate of 79%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 81% and, female literacy is 76%. In Chowwara, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
