Chowk is a locality/township of Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.the main market of Allahabad,from garments to spices sweets papads and vegetables in the morning,their aroma fills your nosetrils,in the evening you can enjoy the delicacies of the chatts that has unparelled tastes,the hari namkeen is famous for its samosa that are dry.the chowk is the historical point ,here once staded the Neem tree where numerous freedom fighters were hanged in the first war of independence.the old church is situated here.the GT road passes through chowk in the early days.Tonga used to ply to katra and other palces from here,in the dusherra festivals the chowk is crowded with tens of thousands of people for watching the Chowkis of Pajava and Patherchatti Ramlila committees ,that adorn their chowkis in competition.The area once had the residence of Pt Motilal Nehru and the first Prime minister of India was born in the area of Mir Ganj, which is now noterious area of the city .Allahabad,
