Chop Shop (2007) is an independent film written and directed by Ramin Bahrani. It was filmed and takes place in the neighborhood of Willets Point, Queens in the area around Shea Stadium.[1] It was made using primarily non-actors in the stlye of cinéma vérité, and was produced by Big Beach Films, which also financed Little Miss Sunshine in 2006.
Chop Shop premiered at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.

Alejandro, a tough and ambitious Latino street orphan on the verge of adolescence, lives and works in an auto-body repair shop in a sprawling junkyard on the outskirts of Queens, New York. In this chaotic world of adults, young Alejandro struggles to make a better life for himself and his 16-year-old sister, Isamar.
