Choorian (1963) was one of the many hit movies made during the heyday of Pakistani cinema. It however had an exceptional quality about it - it was the first ever Pakistani film to be graded "only for adults" rating by the censors. The film when seen from today's standards would seem quite "clean" to most audience. But at the time, wearing body-baring dresses was taboo in Pakistan. Nasira, the famous Pakistani vamp, wore dresses that exposed more than what was permissible then. The film was good with a strong, albeit traditional, storyline. The film was another hit to a string of successful films of the short-lived career of Akmal; he died an early death.
