Chodavaram is located at 17.8333° N 82.9500° E.[1] It has an average elevation of 39 meters (131 feet).

In 1941 Chodavaram had a population of 8,379.[2]

Population is around 25,000(what year?). The main occupation of the population is cultivation in both commercial and food crops.

Major industry is Jaggery and most of the sugarcane is used for sugar production.

There is a sugar factory under cooperative sector at Govada village, comes under Chodavaram mandalam (division).

Chodavaram is actually village but it has all the facilities of a city in fact it is head of all nearby villages like pakheer sahib peta(also called as p.s.peta),venkannapalem,ankupalem,devarapalle,madugula,cheedikada etc.It has one famous sugar cane factory in nearby village govada.The sugar that is made in that factory will go anakapalle sugar cane market which is the second largest sugar cane market in India.Apart from this it has great religious history.It has famous temples which are very old(15th Century).It has famous SIVALAYAM,VINAYAKA TEMPLE.The speciality of VINAYAKA TEMPLE is the god statue is not a human made.We can see the same case one another historical temple of KANIPAKAM.Since it is a village based city so the people celebrate all kinds of festivals,jataras.Especially they do celebrate SAKRANTI FESTIVAL well.They do celebrate this festival 2 months starting from BHOGHI to GAIRAMMA JATARA.Come into education it has very famous schools and colleges that were built at the time of British.The GOVT.HIGH SCHOOL of chodavaram has produced many educationalists in its more than fifty years of excellence.
