[edit] Chlorella and Long Chain Omega-3
I have seen anecdotal accounts on the web claiming that Chlorella is a rich source of long chain Omega-3's. I would like to know if this is true and would like to see some citations if so. --RJMS 01:45, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
What is this "Recommended Daily Dosage" section all about, what studies do these dosages derive from, and which of this algae's chemical components are responsible for the alleged immune strengthening and detoxifying effects? While the description of the algae is good, the Recommended Daily Dosage section is out of place, and appears to serve only advertising purposes...
[edit] chlorella and eyes
I have noted that my eyes are blurry and a bit unfocused since I began using chlorella. Could this have anything to do with toxin elimination taking place?
[edit] I LOVE YOU CHLORELLA
This product saved my life, I dont understand why this doesn't have more information. This is the most studied food in the world and there is nothing about it in wikipedia. It's pretty sad considering its the most nutritious food in the world.
- Your enthusiasm is inspirational, but there are other foods that can lay similar claims as "superfoods", including legumes, Spirulina, soybeans and spinach.--Metron4 18:04, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Does the Chlorella cell wall contain cellulose?
Is there a reference for the Chlorella cell wall being cellulose? While the walls of many Chlorophyta contain cellulose, I think the Chlorella wall is a glycoprotein. See, for example, Planta 156(3):270-273 ([1])
[edit] Chlorella Growth Factor
Does antyone know anything about the Chlorella Growth Factor? I heard it helps your nails and hair grow faster. There is apparently a study on this but I do not feel like looking for it. LOL24.83.178.11 05:18, 16 February 2007 (UTC)KnowledgeSeeker
[edit] This article is incorrect
Whoever wrote this article states that chlorella is a failure in the market, yet its widely available in almost any healthfood store or organic grocery store and its one of the most well known supplements used in alternative medicine for detox. Someone should really re-write the article, most of it seems to be based on out of date information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.7.93.138 (talk) 13:22, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] This article might be misleading
In http://www.modern-psychiatry.com/chlorella.htm it is stated otherwise about chlorella, and most of what is claimed here about nutrition and health effects are misleading information. For chlorophyll maybe better to go for on spinach. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.60.235.213 (talk) 16:23, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
