Chili Palmer (Ernest "Chili' Palmer Jr.) is real. He unfortunately passed away in Miami on April 28, 2008, leaving behind a loving wife and two beautiful daughters. His passing came from a cardiac arrest after fighting severe health problems for over 6 years. I don't know enough about writing wiki articles and the code for adding references in to add this, but yes, Chili Palmer was a real person, and there's an article about it at http://www.nydailynews.com/archives/entertainment/1995/11/05/1995-11-05_the_real_chili_palmer.html. He mentions that the parts about being a movie producer are fiction but that some of the story about his loan sharking operations and owning a club were true. --69.246.132.73 (talk) 03:09, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

The article claims that Chili Palmer is fictional, but the credits of the movie Get Shorty actually list Chili Palmer as an extra appearing in the film. I rather doubt he's fictional if he appears in the movie. 64.74.213.74 (talk) 23:58, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
