I wonder if Benjamin is descended from Tollemeo. It says that Tollemeo was clever. Benjamin and his parents are very smart. What do you think?

[edit] Merge of Charlie Bone with Children of the Red King

I merged these two pages for two reasons. One was that their content was almost identical. My second reason was that Wikipedia guidelines for fiction suggest that we should include information about characters with the book article if there is room. No offense intended. : ) Kam Tonnes 21:08, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

==Benjamin== In Ben's section, it says it should be noted that Paton said he may be a child of the Red King. The book says something like, "For all we know he could be a child of the Red King." He is not picking Benjamin specifically, just using him as an example.

I don't think he is endowed because neither of his parents are endowed and it never says anything about his more distant relatives.

There must be some reason why Ben is in the books though. He wasn't even in Book 3 barely or Book 4 and he hasnt really done much. I know he was the reason Charlie discovered he was endowed and played a part in Emma Tolly's escape, but he hasn't done anythng major. *Note: I haven't read Book 5 yet* --Rebeccarulz123 20:20, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Also in the beginning of Book 4 he is briefly mentioned, when Charlie looks at a photo of Ben and Runner Bean and Charlie's face appears in Benjamins yogurt. This may be significant for the series, otherwise why put it in there? *Note: I haven't read Book 5, I dont mind spoilers but please tell me nothing that will completely ruin the story for me.* --Rebeccarulz123 20:20, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

I've read Book 5 and realized he did take quite a big part In this book, after all without him in the book, they wouldn't have got his parents, the dectectives to spy at Bloor's to find who the "hidden" endowed child is. However there must be something bigger for this for Benjamin and I'm kind of shocked how he just appeared from Hong Kong and Charlie's just like "Oh yeah, hello. You're my best friend but never mind all that." --Rebeccarulz123 00:16, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

I think that Benjamin could be descended from Tollmeo. It says on the Children of the Red King page that Tollmeo (I'm not sure if Tollmeo was a he or a she) was clever. Benjamin's parents are both detectives, and to be a detective, you have to be smart. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.19.14.26 (talk) 15:59, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Benjamin is probably not endowed because his endowment should have shown by now. On the contrary, there is a tiny chance that he might be because he could have been hiding his endowment from Charlie Bone and his endowed friends. Also, User:Rebeccarulz123, Benjamin is a character in the book because the author, Jenny Nimmo, has to give Charlie some unendowed friends or else Charlie wouldn't have had any friends in the first book. Benjamin is probably not descended from Tollmeo because Lysander would have known since Lysander is also descended from Tollmeo. - Duchess Elisabeth

Billy And Benjamin

I have a feeling that there's soemthing more to this because Billy Raven can speak to animals. And he kept saying of how Ben's dog, Runner Bean was evil. There must be something more to this and maybe Runner Bean is evil but we don't know that yet. However, there must be something --Rebeccarulz123 00:16, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

He was just saying that because he had Rembrant with him. I doubt that Runner Bean is going to get a knife and kill Charlie in his sleep. I mean c'mon!--DMF42 08:55, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Runner Bean was never meant to be evil.

I'm really not sure if we can trust Runner Bean. He hasn't done anything evil yet (as far as we know), but you never know what he could do later. That is a good point that Billy said he was evil when Rembrant was with him. Neverthless, that might not have been the only reason he said it. Whatever, though. *Note: I haven't been able to get my hands on Book 6 yet.----ichliebezuko

Runner Bean is about as evil as a mockingbird.

In Children of the Red King, Book 6, the only thing bad that Runner Bean did was fall in love with Chattypatra, Miranda Shellhorn's female dog. 69.19.14.26 16:09, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

I believe Billy had meant that, from the perspective of Rembrandt the rat, Runner Bean was "evil". As Billy is incredibly attached to Rembrandt, he echoed the sentiment. .nix (talk) 04:49, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Trivia section Clean-up

I don't think we need some of the things that are in the Trivia section to stay. If it is a British author, she's going to spell some words in the traditional British way. I don't think we need to list the words she has spelled the British way. Also, I don't think it's nessecary for us to say who's books she's reviewed. What does everyone else think? -Hailey,12-29-06 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.227.158.43 (talk) 14:51, 29 December 2006 (UTC).

I agree. At the moment, I think only the last trivia item (about the Flames) is worth keeping, but perhaps until we have more than one worth keeping, the others should be left just so we're not sitting there with a single trivia item. (Alternatively, I'm sure I could come up with some decent items to add.) -- General Wesc 20:36, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

I'll try and look some up when I have time, probably this weekend, thank you! --I Will Endure 00:40, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

how can a dog be evil?!!?

[edit] Charlie Bone's age

Charlie Bone turned twelve the week before the beginning of the first book (see pages 6 and 89). Given that Amazon got this wrong, I'm not willing to trust them that he was born on December 31, though it fits. The book opens the week after his birthday which is the second week of January. Given that in 2005, the first week of January was only two days, that makes sense, but he could just as well been born January 1 or 2.

I would be very interested in a reliable source (any of the books or Jenny Nimmo herself, preferably) specifying Charlie's actual birthday. -- General Wesc 20:36, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

There seems to be some confusion, so here's my math just in case you want to double-check:

  • If born in the last week December 1992 = the book begins the year after of his twelfth birthday (2005) * If born in the first week of January 1992 = the book begins the year of his twelfth birthday. (2004) I'm using 'twelfth birthday' here to mean the birthday when you turn twelve, as the birth itself isn't usually counted.) -- General Wesc 19:30, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Billy Raven's name

Is there a source for 'Williem', or even 'William'? I would assume 'Billy' is short for 'William', but I've no recollection of either spelling being mentioned in any of the books. -- General Wesc 02:01, 20 January 2007 (UTC) I made it so because Billy has to be short for that I remembered from reading that bill is short for william so I decided to put it there. --lord ciron/lord ciron 2.0

It is in fact William 24.76.162.48 20:52, 30 July 2007 (UTC) I rest my case Lord ciron 2.0 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.162.42.75 (talk) 14:46, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hello

If you don't like what i did here is the original page. The Good Charlie Bone is the protagonist of the series. The relatively ordinary part of his life ends when he discovers he can hear the thoughts of people in photographs. This magical endowment places him in a new school, Bloor's Academy, and he is caught up in its many intrigues. Charlie helps Cook maintain the balance of the endowed children at the school. His magical talent seems to derive from his family's connection to a powerful Welsh wizard from the past, Mathonwy, who was a friend to the Red King. He is also descended from the Red King's youngest daughter, Amoret, and the Yewbeam family, a family with many magical Endowments. As a Picture-traveler, Charlie is able to travel into photographs and pictures and talk to the people in them, and can even take things from within the photograph. He possesses a wand that is currently in the form of a silver moth, which in fact was taken from inside a picture. His wand is called Claerwen (Welsh for Snow White). Ezekiel wants (or wanted) Charlie so badly because by using his talents, Ezekiel can go into pictures and change history. Emma Tolly she has an interesting past. Her surname is derived from the Spanish swordsman Toledo, whose daughter married the Red King, therefore the swordsman is an ancestor to all Endowed children. She is an exceptional artist and her endowment enables her to transform herself into different winged creatures. She strongly resembles her mother, and named a duck after her, Nancy. As shown in Book 3 & 4, her greatest weakness is her fingers or hand, which makes her hard to fly when transformed into a bird. It is revealed that she has a crush on Tancred. she now lives with her Aunt in her own library. Olivia Vertigo is a spirited, independent-minded drama student who often assists Charlie in his efforts to foil evil plans at Bloor's. Her outstanding acting skills probably keep her from being expelled. In the fourth book, when she doesn't receive a hoped-for movie role, she sinks into a bout of depression. She, like Gabriel, is descended from the Red King's daughter Guanhamara who fled the Red King's castle and married an Italian Prince. Olivia is an Illusionist, which enables her to create the image of anything she wants, whether it be a giant alligator or a swarm of bees. Not many know that she is endowed, a fact that she and the rest don't want the Bloors to know. Gabriel Silk is a friend of Charlie's. He owns many gerbils, and is descended from a long line of psychics. He, like Olivia, is descended from the Red King's daughter Guanhamara. An interesting note is that the Red King's portrait in Bloor's Academy originally belonged to the Silk family. Gabriel's family also owns a cloak that belonged to the Red King himself. He is psychometric, but his power seems to only work on clothes. He predicted in the first book that Charlie's father was not dead, but lost. Billy Raven is a friend of Charlie's, but for the first three books he wasn't sure which side to take. He is an orphan and is only 8 years old in first book. He was at first a spy for Ezekiel Bloor, who promised to give him parents. One of his ancestors conversed with ravens that sat on a gibbet where dead men hung, for this talent he was banished from the village. Billy can speak and understand any animal like his ancestor Amadis. In Book 4, he was spirited away to the Passing House with two mean "parents" that had endowments to keep him in. His "father" had the power to create a force field, and his "mother" was the keeper of oaths. Currently, Billy lives in Charlie's house and also at Benjamin's house. Tancred Torsson, one of Charlie's friends. His Scandinavian ancestor was named after the thunder god, Thor. Tancred is an Atmokinetic; he can create rain, wind, thunder and lightning. In Book 5, he also created snow for the first time. He lives in the Thunder House. He has a short temper and is very impatient. Lysander Sage is one of Charlie's friends. He is descended from an African wise man. Lysander is a Necromancer , this enables him to call up his spirit ancestors. His father is a judge. He is best friends with Tancred, and they are quite close. His endowment is from his mother. Bindi is a friend of Olivia's. Her magical talent has not yet been developed, even though it is definitely there. The evidence that she is on the good side is that she helped to save Henry Yewbeam by putting Manfred and Asa on the wrong tracks so that she and Olivia could save him. She is not a major character in the books, and left Bloor's after a while. Paton Yewbeam/Uncle Paton is Charlie's kind great-uncle. He is the mentor of the good endowed children at Bloor's and is always willing to help. His endowment is Power-Boosting, which often causes light bulbs to explode; this is why he hardly ever goes out during the day. Paton and Miss Ingledew (Emma Tolly's aunt) are in love. He discovered his power when he was seven years old. During his birthday party, he was so excited that he burst all of the light bulbs around him, and everyone had to go home. His family was so delighted that they let him eat everybody else's ice cream and he became sick. Cook is one of Charlie's friends and the "lodestone," whose job is to keep the balance of endowed children at Bloor's. Her real name is Treasure and she has a sister named Pearl. Cook has many rooms under Bloor's Academy. Cook has the power of good luck and grace. She takes care of Blessed (semi-bad dog), who is actually owned by Ezekiel Bloor. When she puts her mind to something, not even the staff can stop her. Mr. Orvil Onimous and Mrs. Onoria Onimous are the small owners of the Pets' Cafe on Frog Street. They repeatedly help Charlie and his friends throughout the series, and also care for the flame cats, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius, who happened to be the Red King's leopards. Mr. Onimous is endowed, but his Endowment is never described exactly. A popular hypothesis is that he shares the gift of speaking animal tongues with Billy Raven. Naren Bloor is Bartholomew Bloor's adopted daughter. She is descended from the Red King's grandson who was abducted by pirates and taken to China. Naren means sunflower in Chinese. Naren can shape shadows to form messages and send them like a magical form of instant messagingumbrakinesis, but only if she has access to a possession of the recipient. She first appeared in Book 5. Una Onimous is Mr. Onimous's five year old niece. She is endowed, but her talent is unknown as the Onimouses are keeping her developed. It seems, however, that her power is invisibility, although this has not been confirmed. Dr. Saltweather Dr. Saltweather is also endowed. His endownment is the immunity to drowning in water, illustrated when Dagbert Endless tried to drown him in a thick fog. Alice Angel white witch The Evil Manfred Bloor is Charlie's arch-enemy, and the son of the Headmaster. He was once a hypnotist; but the peak of this power had been at age nine when he hypnotized Lyell Bone and Emma Tolly. He has now lost this power, but is in the process of becoming a Pyrokinetic (the same as his ancestor Borlath). He had been working with Zelda Dobinski ever since, except for the fact that she graduated. Manfred used to be the head boy, but is now the teacher's assistant. Asa Pike had idolized him in the past, but the present is uncertain. He is descended from Borlath, eldest son of the Red King. Borlath was a brutal and sadistic tyrant. Eustacia Yewbeam is the second of Charlie's great-aunts. She is a clairvoyant. Once, she had posed as a sitter in Benjamin Brown's house while his parents were away, and let Asa Pike in the house to attack Runner Bean. Venetia Yewbeam is the youngest and most deadly of Charlie's great-aunts. She is a designer of magic clothes, and used to have a man stuck in the attic of her house. She used to be a smart woman, known to be frequently wearing red boots, but the arson of her home changed her completely. Now, she only thinks of vengeance against Charlie and Uncle Paton. Venetia is hinted to have been teaching Dorcas Loom. Zelda Dobinski is an enemy of Charlie's. She is of Polish descent. Telekinetic. Seems to have a crush on Manfred. Extremely jealous of Manfred's crush on Lydia Pieman. Later is discovered to be a math genius and leaves Bloor's to go to a university at a very early age. Joshua Tilpin is a spy for Bloor's. His parents are Matthew Tilpin and Miss Chrystal. His endowment is Magnetism, which draws people and objects towards him. He used it to lure Tancred to him, but Charlie and his friends countered that by making him so revolting that most people were repelled by him. Idith and Inez Branko are Charlie's enemies. Very rarely show facial expression. Telekinetic. Distantly related to Zelda Dobinski. They are described as looking like "china dolls." Dorcas Loom is an enemy of Charlie's. At the beginning of the series, her side was uncertain, but she became quite mean later. Her magical talent is the ability to bewitch clothes; her bewitched belt almost killed Miss Ingledew (Emma's aunt). She is a big fan of Charlie's great aunt Venetia's work; creating magic clothes. Beth Strong is a telekinetic. She comes from a line of circus performers. She leaves the Bloor's between Second Book and gjjhgjghjghj "Belle". Usher de Grey can produce force fields, held billy in the passing house in the 4th book Midnight for Charlie Bone The story begins with ten-year-old Charlie Bone making a birthday card for his loner friend, Benjamin. He intends to put a photograph of Benjamin's dog onto the card, but when he opens the envelope from the photo developer, he finds a picture of a man cradling a baby. He begins to hear static noises, followed by voices out of the photo. Later that day Charlie's great-aunts, Venetia, Lucretia and Eustacia Yewbeam, and his grandmother Grizelda Bone, test Charlie to see if he is magically endowed. When they find out that he can hear voices from photographs, they send him to Bloor's Academy. However, Bloor's Academy isn't all that good, considering Manfred Bloor (a hypnotist) and his great grandfather, Ezekiel Bloor (an evil, flawed magician) run it. But soon with the help of his new friends, he begins to discover the secrets of himself, the academy, and his father. Charlie returns the photo to its rightful owner, a Miss Julia Ingledew, who lives near the cathedral where his missing father once played. Miss Ingledew tells him the story of a lost baby, given away by a Dr. Tolly. She gives him a heavy metal case and a metal dog (actually a tape recorder) as he leaves. At Benjamin's house, Charlie plays the dog's tape, which gives instructions on how to open the case and awaken the baby who would now be the same age as Charlie. When he goes to Bloor's, Charlie meets the Headmaster's son, Manfred Bloor, who hypnotizes Charlie temporarily. He learns about the legend of the Red King and meets all the other endowed children. He also makes friends with Fidelio Gunn, Billy Raven, and Olivia Vertigo. Together, they figure out that a girl named Emilia Moon is the lost child, and plan to bring her out of her hypnotic state, which they later succeed in doing. Emilia is returned to Miss Ingledew as her long-lost niece, Emma Tolly (Emma can fly by turning into a bird). It is a happy ending for both of them.

Excuse me, but I believe that there is already a page that summarizes the books. It's very, very kind of you, but we don't need a summary of the books. Also, the "hello" page is a large waste of time. There is also a page that tells about the characters and whether they are good or bad. What you typed is very close together, and I don't believe that anyone will take their time to read this article. I don't mean to speak unkindly, but please delete this article as soon as you can. - Duchess Elisabeth

The Time Twister(U.S.)

The Time Twister(U.K)

The year is 1916. Henry and James Yewbeam, two brothers, have been sent to stay with their cousins at Bloor's Academy for the winter. The coldest winter in living memory. Henry just wants to hide from his mean cousin and play marbles for a while. He finds a long hall and begins to roll his marbles. He soon finds a marble that doesn't look familiar. This is what is revealed to be the Time Twister. A series of strange events soon take place, and Henry finds himself beginning to disappear. He only has time to write on the floor "James. ..the marbles. .." before he vanishes. The Time Twister forwards him to the present day, at the exact temperature as it was in 1916. Henry is soon discovered by Charlie Bone. Henry is prompted by Charlie to stay in the Music Tower. However, Billy gets some bits of information and passes them on to Ezekiel Bloor. After Ezekiel is informed, the Yewbeam aunts and the Bloors hunt for Henry. When Henry had wanders too far out from his sanctuary, he is caught by the Bloors and is soon imprisoned, then is rescued. Charlie Bone also learns that he is the sole heir of a wand previously owned by a Welsh wizard. Henry is eventually returned to his cottage by the sea and is reunited with his brother. The Castle Of Mirrors(U.K)

Charlie's magical gifts begin to take on a new dimension. He meets some new characters, including Mr. Pilgrim's replacement named Tantalus Ebony, Alice Angel, and a strange new student named Joshua Tilpin, who appears to be magnetic. However, not all is well. Olivia Vertigo has been turned down for a movie role, and finds she cannot peel apples. An experiment is performed by Ezekiel Bloor, and a ghostly horse who seems to be after Charlie is loose among the ruins. Also, Billy Raven has been adopted by the de Grey's, a child-hating couple who carry a gray bag of oaths with them, that cause terrible pain if broken. They force Billy to sign an oath of obedience before locking him up behind a force field in a strange place called The Passing House. With the help of the three flames, he escapes with the oaths. He throws them into the air only to find that they attack him and his friends at Gabriel Silks house. With Billy, Tancred, and Lysander's ancestors, Charlie helps to banish the oaths. Billy and Charlie go to Tancred's house and are chased by the horse ghost. They learn that it was queen Berenice's heart that was used to awaken the horses bones, and she helps bring them to the castle of mirrors. They meet a man that Charlie immediately assumes is his father. Charlie finds out that his friend Olivia Vertigo is also magically endowed with illusions. Charlie and Billy come closer to finding Charlie's real father, and Billy's guardian than ever. [edit] Charlie Bone and the Hidden King

The Hidden King(U.S.)

The Hidden King(U.K.)

Book description from Amazon.com: When Charlie turns twelve on New Year's Eve, the Flame Cats give him a grave warning: Something ancient has awakened, and Charlie must be watchful. Soon Charlie learns that the shadow from the Red King's portrait has been released, and that it will do anything to keep Charlie from finding his father. Meanwhile, pets are mysteriously vanishing from the city, and Olivia is in danger of revealing her newfound powers. Charlie's only hope is to find the Mirror of Amoret. Although the spirit who possesses this mirror is almost impossible to find, nothing is impossible for Charlie Bone and his friends. Book description from Amazon.co.uk: Charlie Bone awakes one morning to find the city covered with snow and all the animals gone. Where have they gone - and why? Blessed, the dog tells Billy there was a terrible shuddering of the earth and immediately after, he saw a witch with two shadows crossing the hall in Bloor's Academy. Could the discovery of an ancient mirror and the movement of the shadow in the Red King's portrait have something to do with it? And a strange girl appears outside Charlie's house. She tells him he must follow her to find the animals. Can he trust her, and will she perhaps lead him to find someone he lost long before the animals?

In Charlie's most perilous adventure yet, the shadow from the Red King's portrait escaped. Charlie's mom falls in love with an enchanter, and Maisie gets frozen. Charlie is getting closer and closer for unraveling the truth about his father, Lyell Bone. • Apparently this book takes place in 2004 or 2005, according to Charlie turning twelve the week earlier and Charlie being born in late December or earlier January 1992. [edit] Charlie Bone and the Beast

The Beast(U.S.)

The Wilderness Wolf(U.K.)

Billy hears the howling saying, " HELP ME!". Later everybody finds out Manfred has captured Asa hostage for payback. In the last book Asa helped Charlie find his father. [edit] Other

It has been suggested that Asa Pike be merged into this article or section. (Discuss) Amy Bone is Charlie's mum, a kind mother who works part-time at a market to help support herself and her son. She lives on the money her in-laws provide. In the fifth book she is hypnotized by an enchanter. Maisie Jones is Charlie's maternal grandmother. She was always a bit jealous of the Yewbeams for their magical heritage until she discovered that she was related to a Welsh magician Mathonwy. Grandma Bone, whose first name is Grizelda, is Charlie's paternal grandmother. Her siblings are Paton, Lucretia, Venetia and Eustacia. She is a horrible grandmother who is always trying to persuade Charlie to tell her things, and she always sneaks into his room. She seeks to emulate her three sisters and behaves subserviently toward them. Lucretia Yewbeam is the eldest of Charlie's great-aunts and the younger sister of Grandma Bone. She is unendowed, but is just as nasty as her sisters. When her mother died under mysterious circumstances in Yewbeam castle, Lucretia and her sisters stayed and lived with Yolanda. She is the matron of Bloor's Academy. Fidelio Gunn is a good friend of Charlie's and an amazing violin player, although not magically endowed. He tutors Charlie in music to help him prepare for enrollment at Bloor's. Fidelio's home, Gunn House, is generally filled with the clamor of the many musicians in his large family. Benjamin Brown is Charlie's all-time best friend. Ben doesn't go to Bloor's, but he did just return from a seven-month trip to Hong Kong. He owns a dog named Runner Bean. It should be noted in book 1 Paton says he may be a child of the Red King possibly meaning he may be endowed. Doctor Harold Bloor is the Headmaster of Bloor's Academy. He has no magical endowment, but his physical image is very intimidating to most people. His side seems to be that of the bad, but this is debatable. Lyell Bone is Charlie's father, who disappeared in 1994 after "breaking the rules". Lyell was unendowed; he went to Bloor's because of his talent in piano. Gabriel says that he is not dead, but lost. In the fifth book, it is found that he was hypnotized and transformed into "Mr. Pilgrim," a very spacey, quiet teacher in Bloors. He is reunited with his family at the end of Book 5. In book 6 it is suggested that he has possession of a box that contains a will. Miss Ingledew is Emma Tolly's aunt and owner of Ingledew's bookshop. She originally gave Charlie Bone the invention that would later unhypnotize her niece, Emma - whom she is reunited with at the end of Book 1. She is in love with Charlie's great uncle Paton. Bartholomew Bloor is Dr. Bloor's father, Ezekiel's son. He supposedly disappeared in the Alps' during a climb. He is married to an Asian woman named Meng, and they have together adopted Naren. Bartholomew was a close friend to Charlie's father. He is considered the black sheep in the family (or white, depending on which way you look at it). Miss Chrystal is a violin teacher at Bloor's Academy. At first, it was thought that she was on the side of good, but in Charlie Bone and the Hidden King, it is revealed that she is indeed evil(or is she?), when she released "the Shadow" from the Red King's portrait using the Mirror of Amoret. She was once in love with Charlie's father, Lyell Bone, but he was in love with Amy (Charlie's mother). Afterward she married Matthew Tilpin and had a son, Joshua Tilpin. She is descended from the Red King's eldest daughter Lilith and her husband, the evil Count Harken Badlock alias "the Shadow". She is a dark witch. Count Harken Badlock/The Shadow is a nine hundred year old spirit, which is known as "the Shadow". He was the man who taught five of the king's children to torture and murder. He married the king's eldest daughter, "Lilith". Skarpo is a wizard that Charlie first visits in the second novel and then throughout the series. He first seemed to be angry when Charlie took 'his' wand but later he becomes Charlie's friend and helps to hide the Mirror of Amoret. He is in a painting. Asa Pike Was evil now good as of the 5th book. He can turn in to a werebeast at dusk. Miranda Shellhorn Is Eric Shellhorn's sister. Unendowed step-daughter of Lucrieta Yewbeam. [edit] Charlie's Father Charlie Bone's father (Lyell Bone) disappeared when Charlie was very young. Supposedly, he was dead, but when Gabriel Silk, the clothes psychic, wore a tie that had belonged to Charlie's father, he found out that Lyell was not dead, but lost. It is later found out that Lyell Bone tried to interfere with the giving away of Emma Tolly, another endowed child at Bloor's Academy, and as punishment, he was hypnotized by Manfred Bloor and wiped of his memories. He then became the Bloor's Academy piano teacher known as Mr. Pilgrim. Although Charlie saw him almost every day, he did not know what his father looked like so he could not recognize him. After Charlie uses the Mirror of Amoret, he discovers that Mr. Pilgrim is his father. Lyell was brought out of his trance and reunited with the Bones at the end of Charlie Bone and the Hidden King, when the 10 of the children of the Red King danced around the tree (the king). Although Lyell is found after the end of the fifth book, he doesn't not play a major roll in the sixth, since he is on a second honeymoon with Amy. He is mentioned many times in the plot about why he was really hypnotized, but nothing is really resolved.

  • Is there anything in the Wikipedia Talk Guidelines that would justify the removal of this block of pointless text? I didn't see anything and I'm tempted to deleted all of this as it is cluttering up the talk page. Anyone who wanted the information found here could find it on the talk page history anyway. .nix (talk) 04:49, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Is horrible; no offense. There isn't supposed to be ! anywhere, opinions, or reviews copied from other websites, let alone reviews. Who wrote this? I'll try to fix it up. icelandic hurricane #12 (talk) 14:27, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Charlie's Family Tree

I do not think that the section "Charlie's Family Tree", is needed. Also, it doesn't have too much of an important presence and the section is too long. A lot of the people in Charlie's family tree don't even show up in the books.

Whoever wrote this, no offense, but some people think the Family Tree is quite intresting. The family tree doesn't show up in some books so it's quite a surprise to know about Charlie Bone's Family Tree. Duchess Elisabeth

The Family Tree is interesting and useful, especially as a quick reference while reading the books. I do agree that it is much too long. I would suggest moving it to it's own article and also formatting it (if possible) to make it easier to read. .nix (talk) 21:07, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Children of the Red King

I think you should put a bigger article about the children of the Red King.Cheeseballface 19:56, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

The article for the endowed children is very long. I don't mean to offend anyone but somebody should delete the endowed adults and put them on another article. Also, Harry Potter and the Wizard's Rock doesn't have anything to do with this article. Please, do not type anything here that does not contain the Charlie Bone Series. As far as I know, Charlie Bone and Harry Potter have nothing to do with each other so I kindly ask you to please stop typing about things that don't belong here. [edit] Character List Problems

A change needs to be made, in my opinion, to the character list: The whole good/bad thing describing whether a character is a protagonist or an antagonist is ticking me off. Some people have changed sides or aren't even in the books anymore. It should either be cleaned up, or we should make a new page for the characters, as the section is already very long.

And... whoever wrote the section(s) under "Hello" on the discussion pages, no offense, but try to limit yourself next time. 70.246.74.197 (talk) 17:26, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

I agree. Whether or not a character is on the "good" or "bad" side (assuming they are on any side at all) should be explained in the character's brief profile. Anything more would be superfluous. I also agree about the length of character section. I think it needs to be moved to a separate article or possibly two separate articles, with one for the main characters and one for the minor/supporting characters. .nix (talk) 20:58, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 7th Book

Why don't we have anything about the 7th book on here except the title? A brief summary of what we know about this book would be pleasant Mr. chicken III (talk) 01:58, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] trivia section

excuse me, but Charlie does not play the piano in the first book, he plays the recorder —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.115.83.222 (talk) 18:14, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

When Fidelio first gives Charlie music lessons, I believe Charlie did play the piano. He only played the recorder once he got to Bloor's, if I am not mistaken. Mr. chicken III (talk) 01:54, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Mr. Chicken III is right. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.228.187.19 (talk) 15:57, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Removal of the Book Summaries

  • I removed the book summaries and moved the series list down below the contents. The summaries were redundant as all of the published books (except Book 3) have their own articles with much longer summaries. Book 3 still needs an article/summary if anyone is willing to write it. .nix (talk) 04:49, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Character Lists & Family Trees

  • I'm slowly working my way through the character list. I reorganized the list into three groups: Bloor's Students, Bloor's Staff and Other Characters. If anyone has any better ideas for how to divide the list up, I'd gladly hear it. I only chose to separate it thusly because most of the action in the series takes place in or around the Bloor's Academy grounds. Hopefully this will make it easier to navigate. I already put the characters in alpabetical order by surname and I plan on going through and revising some of the profiles (same goes for the section on the Red King and his children). A lot of them contain irrelevant information or information that has already been mentioned elsewhere in the article. .nix (talk) 04:49, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

  • I added a family tree for the Red King as his children. I made it with the best of my ability using the information in this article, but I am not 100% sure it is correct. I would appreciate it if someone would look over the information, especially in regards to which families are descended from which children. I did not add the Tolly Family as I was unsure where it belongs. The books say that the Tollys are descended from the Knight of Toledo, however, as the Knight is the father of Queen Berenice all of the Red King's descendants technically also descend from the Knight's family. Unless, that is, the Tollys are descended from any other children of the Knight. .nix (talk) 04:49, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

  • Here is the Family Tree I made for the Bloors, Yewbeams and Ravens based off of the trees in the beginning of Book 6. I'm not entirely sure where it would belong in the article and I would like someone to look it over to make sure there aren't any mistakes. I think it would be very useful, but it don't want it to clutter up with article. .nix (talk) 04:49, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
  • I should mention that I also removed the "Recent Descendants of the The Red King" section as it is, among other things, confusing, hard to read and had more than a few inaccuracies. .nix (talk)
