"The murder of children is considered a particularly[citation needed] abhorrent crime in most[citation needed] societies; they are perceived within their communities and the state at large as being vulnerable[citation needed], and therefore especially susceptible to abduction and murder."

Are there many societies that don't consider it abhorrent? Are there many societies where children are not particularly vulnerable? I'm not editing the page prior to a discussion, but I don't think having 'citation needed' three times in one sentence really helps this page, especially given the topic at hand. The reason I put the tag after 'particularly' and not at the end was that with particularly being there, it makes it seem as if most societies view child murder as being worse than other murder which is what I think needs cited.

It is not so much whether children are vulnerable but whether they are perceived as such that is in dispute. In any case, vulnerable can apply to multiple contexts. This, I think, is the tag that should go if any.

I probably was overkill but it shows exactly which parts of the sentence are the disputed parts. Now they can just come to the talk page though. Munci (talk) 10:01, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Guys, I think we need more cases of child murder put on this list. All we have on the list are cases of child murder from Texas, California, and Northern Europe. WhisperToMe 18:58, 9 Sep 2003 (EDT)

I have in my mind the killing of child emperors and the collective capital punishment in ancient China. Are those qualified as Child murder? wshun 07:10, 18 Dec 2003 (UTC)

"These moral panics have tended to obscure those rare cases where actual pedophile gangs have acted to prey upon children."

This statement seems inconsistent with the article on pedophilia. The wording, specifically, seems rather loaded.

Thoughts?

Abortion is linked to "practices of systematically killing very young children." That seems a little biased, don't you think?
