Talk:Child Support Policy

[edit] Statement of Neutrality
It is realized that child support policy is a contentous and emotional subject. Those of you with strong feelings and personal perspective are asked not to do things that may be considered to be vandalism. If you are not an expert and wish to question information in the article, go first to reference material where you may find answers. Then if you wish, please discuss them here. This is not a battleground for personal grievances or a bulletin board to market policy preferences. Also, keep in mind that this is currently a stub and needs further development. [edit] Article Scope
Articles have been written on "child support" and "child support in the United States" that are currently under review as too narrowly focused and inappropriately named. The idea of this article came out of those discussions. This is not a duplication of the ideas in those other articles, as it is not expected that an article with such a general title as "Child Support Policy" will focus on specific policies and administrative procedures of a particular agency in a particular country or official (narrow) POV of such agencies, etc. Instead, the scope will be broader, focusing on broad policy analysis with strong factual roots. Enough is understood about this subject, that it is believed that the entry will be quite authoritative. Rogerfgay 13:37, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- We have article talkpages to propose article subject matter forks. Starting a new article with a statement of concept is completely the wrong way to go about it and this article should be deleted as it isn't actually an article. Besides, I at least am still unconvinced that there is any need for a separate article at this time. Expand the existing articles on the topic(s) and discuss forking content into sub articles on the existing article talkpages.--Isotope23 talk 13:04, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
