[edit] Not Chicanos

Mr. capone-e is not even mexican stop giving false information

--I know and they didn't even have sinful in this page yet they put someone who is not even mexican. Yet they don't put mexicans like El pecador but they have plenty of time to put pakistany rappers in the page.

What Mr. capone-e is pakistani? Btw, who deleted Califa thugs from this page and numerous other rappers?

If Mr capone-e is not not chicano than why is he on the list. He himself considers himself a sureno rapper. Why isnt he not placed wit punjabi mc, Army of one, and along other middle eastern rap artists?

[edit] List of Chicano Rappers

This list needs to be pruned down a bit. Most of the artists that were on the list were not notable enough to already have a wikipedia page, or didn't pass the "Google Test." If you google one of the added artists like "Mexican Weedheadz" there are less than 90 results, and half of those are from sites which use Wikipedia content (so it mirrors this article). While a minority of the artists like Slow Pain (Google "Slow Pain Rapper") don't already have a wikipedia article, their names ring bells and they have an established and notable solo career (not just guest spots on compilations that sell 500 copies en las pulgas). I think if someone intends to add an artist, their importance should be asserted on the discussion page (albums released, results in Google, appearances on music sites). There are hundreds to thousands of artists that consider themselves Chicano rappers, and we simply can't list them all, just like we can't list every single rap artist in the U.S. on a list of rappers.

Another thought is that we create a new article, a "List of Chicano Rappers", and keep the inclusion criteria mentioned above (notability, etc). Many other music genre and subgenre pages on Wikipedia have a separate page dedicated to notable artists, it keeps the article cleaner and better organized. 68.155.68.113 06:32, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] POV on Chicano rap article

This particular article has many POV statements. Unreferenced claims must be provided with footnotes such facts or citations to back up statements provided. Saludos! --Ramírez June 23 2007 (UTC)

Added close to a dozen citations. There are more out there, and more information that can be added to the article, I will get to that soon. BreadLand 12:30, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Chicano rap and Pocos Pero Locos

I think the time has come to create an article for the Latin Hip Hop network Pocos Pero Locos. One, this is the network that officially and exclusively premiered and played Latin Hip Hop and Chicano rap; two, because of Pocos Pero Locos, reggaeton became its own subgenre of the Latin Hip Hop category and has a cult following; three, it was this network that precisely predicted the future of Lil' Rob, Baby Bash and NB Ridaz. Should we do it? ElMeroEse (talk) 02:41, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
