Chiyoko Shimakura

Chiyoko Shimakura (In original : 島倉 千代子 , or しまくら ちよこ) is a female Enka singer and TV presenter in Japan.

Her singer career is prevalent for almost 50 years.Despite of her long careers,Chiyoko is cute and lovely in her stage works.

Chiyoko is considered "the Goddess of Enka",and her famous discography "Jin Sei Iro Iro" (In original : 人生いろいろ , or じんせいいろいろ , the meanings are "my long history and long careers as an Enka singer") is popular among young people,politicians (the prime minister Junichiro Koizumi is one of the devoted fans),elderly girls.

Chiyoko was born in Shinagawa Ward on the 30th march 1938.Her pretty impressions had made her stage debut in earlier years.

In 1954 Chiyoko had won the 1st prize of the Columbia Music Entertainment singers competition.Her discography is so numerous,the exact registration is unnotable.
