Chithode is a panchayat town in Erode district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.

As of 2001 India census,[1] Chithode had a population of 7695. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Chithode has an average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 78% and female literacy of 61%. 8% of the population is under 6 years of age.

In Chithode, SICT COMPUTER EDUCATION - CHITHODE is an authorised training centre of SICT which have 10 years of expertise in IT Innovative education. This institution has been managed by an "IT EXCELLENCE AWARD" winner for this district. Programs for setting up revolutionary exhibitions and demonstrations under the new concepts like Multimedia, Office Automation and Entrepreneur Development Programs in its Rural Development Project.
