The 2008 Chinese Super League season is the fifth season since the establishment of the Super League and the 15th season of professional football in China. The season started on 29th March 2008, and the season is scheduled to end on 7th Dec 2008 [1]. The schedule for the second half of the season is subject to change according to the National team's progress in the World Cup Qualifying Round.
The first goal of the league was scored in the opening match by Jefferson of Liaoning FC in a 1-1 draw with Chengdu Blades.

- At the end of the 2007 season, Guangzhou Pharmaceutical and Chengdu Blades were promoted to Super League.
- At the end of the 2007 season, Xiamen Lanshi was disbanded after relegated.
