The QJ (前进=Qian Jin, meaning "advance") was a type of heavy freight steam locomotive used on China Railways. A prototype was made by Dalian in 1956, but the majority were made by Datong from 1964 to 1988 [1].
They were withdrawn from the main China Railways system in 2003, and from the Jitong railway in 2005[2]. 17 are reportedly preserved[3].
