China (知名町 China-chō?) (pronounced [ʨina]) is a town located in Ōshima District, Kagoshima, Japan.
As of 2008, the town has an estimated population of 6,753 and the density of 127 persons per km². The total area is 53.29 km².
Sugar cane, potato and peanut farming are popular. Flower farming is also popular.
There is a small Japanese Military Base present with radar / communications installation.
China is one of only two towns is on Okinoerabu Island. The main ship port and airport is in the other town on the island, in Wadomari.
