Chimbudeven is an Indian film director.

Born in Madurai, Chimbu was the second child of Mr. Venkataraman and Mrs. Thiravium Venkataraman. His father worked in the telegraph office as an overseer. Chimbudeven has a bachelor degree in botany from Madurai Kamaraj University.h

Among his various cartoon characters was Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi which was the subject of one of his films later.It was claimed that the film story is stolen from popular artiste maruthu by the director chimbu.The film is ghost directed by actor vadivel.
