Chilton Memorial Hospital, located at 97 West Parkway in Pompton Plains, is the only hospital serving the Pequannock Township area. Chilton is a non-profit community hospital.

In 1947, Forrest C. Chilton II, MD and his wife, Elizabeth, a registered nurse, donated land located on Newark-Pompton Turnpike to build a hospital in honor of their son, who died in World War II. In 1954, the 50-bed facility opened. In 1961, it was expanded to a 119-bed facility. The current facility on West Parkway houses 256 beds.
