[edit] History

The company was founded by the late Michael Wiseman in order to produce the plays in traditional settings, both open air and with respect to costumes and sets. The participating actors are amateur performers from the Chilterns and Thames Valley areas.

The Open Air Theatre (set up specifically every summer) is a 650+ seat covered auditorium that offers a full view of the stage and includes special facilities for the disabled and hard of hearing.[2] Facilities include parking space close to the auditorium, and food and refreshments are available at the bar in the main marquee. Many visitors have picnics in the surrounding fields.

The patrons include Jeremy Irons, Miss Duclie Gray OBE and the owner of the location of the performances.[3] Its president was Dame Wendy Hiller OBE until her death in 2003.

[edit] Future Productions

As usual, this year's performances will take place in June, and the play will be Midsummer Night's Dream. This year's production is in support of The South Bucks Hospice and the Beaconsfield Talking Newspaper.
