Chill Factore
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chill Factore, commonly pronounced as either "Chill Factor" or "Chill Factory", is a real snow indoor ski centre located in the Trafford Park area of Manchester, United Kingdom. It opened in November 2007[1] at which time it was the longest in the United Kingdom and the widest in the world, at 300 metres (980 ft) long and 100 metres (330 ft) wide at its widest point.
[edit] Slope Facilities
The main slope is served by two drag lifts, [2] suspended from the ceiling thus wideing the available piste area and allowing for easier maintenance of the slope. This differs from the other centres in the UK where the lift supports are on the piste. In addition to the main slope, the centre features a nursery slope, a luge track, and dedicated snowplay and tubing areas.
[edit] Alpine Village
The centre also includes a number of shops and restaurants in a themed 'Alpine Village' area. This includes the following outlets:
- Castle In The Air (Lloyds No1 bar)
- The worlds only Dare2B store
- Subvert Boardstore
- Snow & Rock
- Fredricks Ice Cream
- Gloria Jeans Coffee
- Quiksilver, Evans Cycles
- The Vedas
- Chiquitos
- Nandos
- Adrennaline Junkie.
On the upper level of the village The Eiger, Chillis and The Mont Blanc feature, all run by Chill Factore. Billabong was a potential store however only a few weeks before opening the store was cancelled. The empty unit beside Nandos should have been Billabong.
Freestyle nights are every Saturday.
