Children of Peace is a British-based, multi-faith and non-partisan charity that focuses upon building friendship, trust and reconciliation between Israeli and Palestinian children, aged 7-17, through arts, education, health and sports projects in the region, so that a future generation and their communities might live in peace.

The charity was founded in 2005 by its chairman Richard Martin, with the aim of protecting all of the children in the region – be they Bedouin, Druze, Catholic, Jewish or Muslim - from the consequences of conflict. The charity works with a network of community-based organisations and non-governmental organisations in the Gaza, Israel and the West Bank, who sign up to the notions of peaceful co-existence and cooperation.

Children of Peace is based in Uckfield, East Sussex, with a Regional Operations team in the Galilee, and is structured around a Management Committee of Trustees, a Financial Advisory Panel of international bankers and advisers, Goodwill Ambassadors who act as advocates for the charities mission, and Friends, drawn from public life, including the Archbishop of York, Dame Helen Mirren, Mark Ronson, Emma Thompson, Jeff Goldblum and Sir Derek Jacobi.

The Patron of Children of Peace is Madonna and the Royal Patron is HH The Begum Aga Khan.

The charity's projects include reconstruction programmes, twinned sports activities, the Friendship Programme (which teaches the children each other’s language), SchoolsLink (a network of schools across the region that support Children of Peace), the Abir Aramin Girls’ Scholarship Bursary and research into child trauma and health issues resulting from conflict.
