Children Of Dub began in 1991[1] as a collaboration between former Zero Gravity member Luke Eastwood, Demian Castellanos and DJ Quark. This first collaboration resulted in the song Journey to the Inner Light. Demian pursued other projects[2], but returned periodically for livesets and record collaborations. DJ Zach, former member of Zero Gravity, joined later[3] and the group premiered at London's Whirl-y-gig.
In 1994 DJ Zach left the group after some musical differences to pursue other projects. Luke, now alone, was joined by percussionist Katie Hecker, formerly of Ecstacy Of St Teressa and Revolution 9. In 1995 they recorded their first single Nemesis, and went on tour with Demian to promote their first album The Silent Pool.
After returning from tour and a trip to India they released their second EP Transcendental which entered the Melody Maker indie charts. In spring of 1996 their label Diversity folded and they left to sign with Magick Eye Records where they recorded the EP Adrenochrome. This returned them to the Melody Maker indie chart and brought them into the Record Mirror dance chart.
In spring of 1997 they release the limited edition EP Greed, which featured vocals by David Reilly. In the summer the album ESP was released, followed in the autumn by the trance EP Nemesis/Rhythm Of Life. In that same year they released Analog Meditation on the label
In spring of 1998 the EP Feeling Has Gone was released and was followed by a brief tour of the UK. At the end of that year the album Digital Mantras for a Fucked Up World was released, which Children of Dub considered to be their best album to date.[4]
In 2001 they released their best of album Evolution 1995–2001.
