Child's Play is an announced film that is to be the re-start of the Child's Play movie series. It will not follow after Seed of Chucky and instead will be a remake of the original.^{[citation needed]} It is planned for release in 2009. Screenwriter Don Mancini at the Florida Fim Festival announced that Brad Dourif had signed on and will once again be providing the voice of the killer doll Chucky, as reported by the Orlando Sentinel.

it has also been rumoured that Jennifer Tilly will again take a role in a child's play film, her part is unknown.^{[citation needed]}
