Taza was the son of Chiricahua Apache leader Cochise. He died September 26, 1876, after only about two years as chief. [1]

The 1954 film "Taza, Son of Cochise" was directed by Douglas Sirk and stars Rock Hudson as Taza.

From the IMDb Synopsis [[2]]: Soon after the end of the Apache wars, chief Cochise dies. His son Taza wants peace but his brother Naiche wants war...and Taza's wife, Oona. Naiche loses no time in starting trouble and they both end up on a reservation, where they are soon joined by the captured renegade Geronimo, and the rest is history.
