[edit] Biography

The duet was composed of two children (a Brazilian boy, Chico, and a French girl, Roberta), who had featured in the 1989 Kaoma's videoclip "Lambada". The duet had the same producer, Jean-Claude Bonaventure, as the Brazilian group. All there songs were composed by Loalva Braz, Daniel Darras, Alan Pype, Bonaventure, M. Nogueira and themselves[1].

At the end of 1990, Chico and Roberta had a great success with their album Frente a Frente, which was certified Gold album, and their first two singles "Frente a Frente" and "Esperanca do natal" (a song for Christmas), also certified gold disc by the French certificator, the SNEP, in 1991[2]. These singles were listed in the highest positions for several weeks on French SNEP Singles Chart[3]. According to Infodisc website, these songs were sold respectively about 322,000 and 228,000 copies[4].

The duet recorded all the songs in Portuguese language, and they performed them in several French TV shows at the time.

After these hits, the two children's musical career stopped suddenly[5].
