Chicken marsala

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chicken marsala is an Italian-American food dish using Marsala wine in the sauce. A typical Marsala sauce involves reducing the wine almost to a syrup with onions or shallots, then adding mushrooms and herbs. In the most popular Marsala recipe flour-coated pounded chicken breast halves are braised in a mixture of Marsala, butter, olive oil, mushrooms and spices. It is also commonly served over or with a side of pasta.
