The Chichele Professorship of Modern History is one of the several Chichele Professorships established from the mid-19th century onwards at All Souls College, Oxford University.

The position of Chichele Professor of Modern History was established in 1862 and has been held by the following distinguished academics:

- Charles Oman, 1905 - 1946
- Keith Feiling, 1946 - 1950
- E. F. Jacob, 1950 -
- R. W. Southern, 1961
- Geoffrey Barraclough, 1970-1973
- J. M. Wallace-Hadrill, 1974-1983
The name of this chair has been changed and since 1984 its holder is now the Chichele Professor of Medieval History.
