Chicago Tribune Silver Basketball

The Chicago Tribune Silver Basketball is an award presented annually by the Chicago Tribune to the Most Valuable Player of the Big Ten Conference for both men's and women's basketball in the United States. The Chicago Tribune has awarded the Silver Basketball for men's basketball since 1946. The Silver Basketball for women's basketball was first presented in 1988. The awards are voted on by the head coaches of the Big Ten basketball teams and the Chicago Tribune staff.
