Chicago Force (Star Wars)

Chicago Force is a Star Wars fan club in Chicago, Illinois established in February of 1999.

The original goal of the group was to organize a "camp-out" to buy tickets to see the film Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace at the now defunct McClurg Court Theater in downtown Chicago. In addition to organizing the camp-out, the group also raised $1,500 for a local Chicago children's charity (Partners in Education).
Since the original line, Chicago Force has continued to establish themselves as the premier Midwestern Star Wars fan organization. Amongst other accomplishments Chicago Force has annually participated in Chicago's Walk for Hunger, held yearly toy drives for Chicago's Toys-For-Tot's and Children's Treasure Chest. Chicago Force has also raised thousands of dollars for Jane Addams Hull House. In addition to its charitable efforts the fan club has organized hundreds of leisure activities for area fans including paint-ball excursions, Karaoke nights, movie viewings, convention parties and many others. Chicago Force has been featured in dozens of articles and interviews both televised and in print. In addition, Chicago Force has proudly worked together with recognized organizations like The Official Star Wars Fan Club and the Chicago Bulls Charitabulls foundation.
The club's future goal is to continue attracting area fans, to expand their charitable efforts in new directions, and to have a great time celebrating their shared love for the Star Wars universe.

Chicago Force plans and organizes monthly social and charitable events for regional Star Wars Fans in addition to hosting several special interest groups.

Errant Venture Star Wars Book Club Chicago Force's first special interest club. The Errant Venture Book club, named after an Imperial Star Destroyer travels between downtown Chicago and Schaumburg, Illinois to discuss the books in the Expanded Universe collection [1]

Black Sun Star Wars collector's syndicate Named after Prince Xizor's galactic organized crime organization, Chicago Force's Black Sun collector's syndicate meets monthly in Wheaton, Illinois [2]

Every other month the Chicago Force Star Wars Costume club meets to discuss costume different building technique and work on skills involved in reproduction of authentic Star Wars costumes and props. [3]
