Chicago African American Olympic Committee

The Chicago African American Committee 2016 formerly the Chicago African American Olympic Committee is a non-profit organization created to ensure that African American businesses and citizens get equal opportunity to compete for resources of olympic-related economic opportunities - such as development contracts for minority businesses and equal share of economic grants and programs for schools in the Chicago area that are economically disadvantaged. The group organized under the ideals that African American participation and cooperation are imperative to gaining the International Olympic Committees’ approval in designating Chicago as the host city for 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

The objectives of the Chicago African American Committee 2016 are:

  • To get Chicago to become the Host city of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games
  • To develop effective logistical contingency plans that will assist African American athletes, coaches, delegates, and tourists, who will travel to Chicago during the 2016 Olympic Games.
  • To insure that African American businesses and communities receive equal access to construction and development contracts.
  • To stimulate economic and employment opportunities in African American communities.
  • To initiate awareness, create educational workshops and sports programs, that directly or indirectly affect the African American community during and after the 2016 Olympic Summer Games.
  • To collaborate with other Olympic Committees, hence, increasing our chances of hosting the 2016 Summer Games.
  • To promote and facilite various elements that surround the Olympic Games.
