Chiang Mai LRT is the proposed light rail system project in Chiang Mai, Northern of Thailand. It is still in the planning state at present. The opening date is unknown. It was proposed by the former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, his hometown. Since he was deposed by coup, the status of this project is "shelved for now".
