"Chi sarà" (English translation: "Who Will Be") was the Italian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1973, performed in Italian by Massimo Ranieri.
The song is a ballad, with Ranieri describing his feelings as he waits for a date to arrive. Unusually, however, he describes them to the imagined presence of a former lover (who apparently dated him one year previously). He wonders how his own date will go and also how hers will turn out.
The song was performed tenth on the night (following Yugoslavia's Zdravko Čolić with Gori Vatra and preceding Luxembourg's Anne-Marie David with Tu Te Reconnaîtras). At the close of voting, it had received 74 points, placing 13th in a field of 17.
It was succeeded as Italian representative at the 1974 Contest by Gigliola Cinquetti with "Sì".
