Question about logo

Do you make people logos that theye can put on there pages or is this only for a few wikipedians. If you make it only for a few people, How do you make it? If you could could you make me one.    Juthani1    22:15, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Sure! How would you like it to look? --Chetblong (talk) 04:40, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

ban?

Hi, you wrote:

  • Banned: indefinitely for disruptive editing in 9/11 related articles. After reviewing the arbitration enforcement posting concerning you and looking at this edit, I have decided to ban you indefinitely from all pages relating to the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States. If you have any questions or objections, please read over WP:BAN and WP:RCAM. Cetblong (talk) 03:31, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Are you kidding me? Are you banning me for warning an editor not to violate the ArbCom decision, and not to violate WP:NPOV ? There must be some misunderstanding?  — Xiutwel ♫☺♥♪ (speech has the power to bind the absolute) 16:48, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Oops, I now discovered the link by Jehochman... to the enforcement noticeboard I can now understand your action, with so many people speaking ill of me. I'll first read the policy pages you cited and get back on this later. Thx.  — Xiutwel ♫☺♥♪ (speech has the power to bind the absolute) 23:51, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
  • I will respect your ban. And I'll stop issuing warnings immediately. Would like to discuss the ban with you, though, since I was offered no chance to defend myself. I think the main thing for me to understand from WP:BAN is that I may appeal at the ArbCom ? Would I then be entitled to do that via wiki, or should I be obliged to use e-mail instead?  — Xiutwel ♫☺♥♪ (speech has the power to bind the absolute) 00:14, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for respecting the ban. That is a helpful step. :) Actually you are allowed to appeal to me directly if you wish, and you can also appeal to ArbCom. I banned you for disruptive editing in 9/11 related areas as can be seen by this [1] which shows exactly what you were banned for. I hate to ban a person, but you were being fairly disruptive with your editing to those areas. Cheers, --Chetblong (talk) 06:30, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Dear Chetblong, before making any formal request, I would like to discuss the matter. How would you like to see me behave? I admit: my personal view is that an "inside job" seems more likely than an "outside attack". More likely — I am not 100% sure. Other editors think they are sure of it (Truthers); a dominant group of editors and admins feel certain of the opposite: the inside job scenario would be totally impossible. How should I deal with this? WP:NPOV says we should represent significant minority views fairly; Tiny minority views deserve no coverage. This is what I've been trying to do: make sure that WP:NPOV is followed. The reason you gave me for the ban "this" consists not of edits or actions of mine, but the opinions and accusations of those that object to my editing. I have hardly made any edits to these articles, most of it was discussion on talk pages. How would you like me to behave in the area of 9/11-related articles, so that you could unban me?  — Xiutwel ♫☺♥♪ (speech has the power to bind the absolute) 20:05, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi there, I couldn’t resist but to follow your link into that rabbit hole. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that one group of extremely biased editors accused another group of extremely biased editors for bias? Needless to say, this extreme bias is not my construct, it's merely my personal view on the perception those individuals have on each other. This wouldn’t be alarming or worth of notice if one group hadn't overcome (utterly decimated that is) the other, thus leaving us without any balance. I'm interested, can you see this as clear as I can? I see you're relatively new editor so I'd appreciate if you'd share your thoughts, because one really cannot see how such approach would be acceptable. We all know the background on this issue, and if you'd like I can reach back in history to illustrate why such approach is not acceptable or to point out that omissions, deletions and continuous destruction of disturbing evidences by our own shame is something we should all together be deeply ashamed of.

I'm honestly interested why no one reacted when user Aude acted with bad faith and clearly, obviously, even maliciously broke the consensus few days back, while openly defying Arbcom decisions? Can you see how deeply flawed all this is?

Take care and best wishes. Tachyonbursts (talk) 21:42, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey dude! What's up? Sorry for the rate resp, I've been pretty snowed under (not literally, but that could happen tonight). New Project

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 02:57, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Something I did about a month ago...

I'm sorry for this. I'm a total dick/jerk, and that's it. Again, I'm sorry, for multiple things. Oh, and (since I didn't answer your question) I wouldn't do it again. Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours 01:28, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

User talk:198.166.53.182

I came across the mentioned IP and I was wondering why it wasn't blocked indefinately because (per WP:LEGAL) "Users who make legal threats will typically be blocked from editing indefinitely while legal threats are outstanding".--Sunny910910 (talk|Contributions|Guest) 05:13, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Because we can't block an IP indefinitely, check out Wikipedia:Blocking IP addresses#Block lengths for more info on this. --Chetblong (talk) 06:02, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Oh yeah, right. I forgot about that part. Thanks for telling me.--Sunny910910 (talk|Contributions|Guest) 06:04, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

WP:HAU

Hello again. The Highly Active Users project has gone through a complete revamping per popular demand. We believe this new format will make it easier for new editors to find assistance. However, with the new format, I must again ask you to verify your information on this page. I attempted to translate the data from the old version to the new, but with the extensive changes, I may have made some errors. Thanks again. Useight (talk) 03:57, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

This was not vandalism. I had noticed there were two spellings of Mr. Pollack's name. In my haste I mistakenly corrected the wrong spellings. I'm not trying to mess up your precious wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.135.14.141 (talk) 04:08, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Please be civil, when you leave messages on others talk pages. Your edit was unsourced and you gave no reference to show what you claim when you made the edit, nor did you leave an edit summary stating that there were 2 different spellings. If this is true you can bring this up on the talk page of the article, and find consensus for such changes before you make them, according to policy. Cheers, --Chetblong (talk) 04:16, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
