WikiProject Germany Invitation

Hello, Chetblong! I'd like to call your attention to the WikiProject Germany and the German-speaking Wikipedians' notice board. I hope their links, sub-projects and discussions are interesting and even helpful to you. If not, I hope that new ones will be.

New Semester, New Appeal

This semester I am teaching academic writing to a group of teachers at my school. This course starts on Monday Jan 28. I would like to know if you are still interesting in "mentoring". You can see the syllabus at Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects/ITESM_Campus_Toluca/SyllabusIf so, please leave a message on my talk page and update the mentor's page Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects/ITESM_Campus_Toluca/Mentors, if . If not, please remove your name and information from that page. Thanks! Thelmadatter (talk) 21:05, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Okopipi (software tool) (2nd nomination) closure

Hi – I don't know why it's my duty to shepherd this little obscure article around AFD, but it seems I've been called and so I answer. ;-)

When you close AFDs as 'keep', there's more to it than putting the tags around the deletion discussion and marking it 'keep'. The steps are outlined at WP:DPR – in this case, you stopped at the discussion itself and didn't go to the article. In this case, the AFD notice was not removed from the article, and the result, using {{Oldafdfull}}, wasn't placed on the article's talk page.

I've already done both these steps for you for this particular AFD discussion, and it's now closed correctly. You should review any other AFDs you closed to be sure they were properly processed.

I closed unequivocal 'keep' and 'merge' AFDs before I became an admin too, and it's a great help to us when we have backlogs. However, we need you to close them _entirely_, because it defeats the purpose if we have to go back and do the work anyway. I hope that doesn't sound mean or stuffy because that's the complete opposite of my intent – we appreciate it very much, so just make sure you've read the list and have checked it twice before moving on to the next task. Okay? :-) Good job, keep it up – KrakatoaKatie 23:13, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Hey - I'm sorry but I really don't know how I forgot those two major steps in closing a AFD, as the date that I closed the AFD was after I had already found out those steps in the closure process. I must have left my brain somewhere else that minute :-), because I have WP:NAC bookmarked so when ever I close an AFD I do the closure correctly. But I do appreciate you finishing the steps for me, as I would probably never have gone back and seen that I had left it undone. Oh and don't worry you didn't sound either mean nor stuffy, as a matter of fact you were quite friendly about the whole situation. Thanks again! ChetblongTalkSign 03:00, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
(P.S. How do non-admins "merge" articles? --ChetblongTalkSign 03:00, 29 January 2008 (UTC))

RfA thanks

I am not one for sending round pretty pictures, but after my recent RfA, which passed 68/1/7, I am now relaxed and this is to thank you for your support. I will take on board all the comments made and look forward to wielding the mop with alacrity. Or two lacrities. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 21:21, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
