[edit] License tagging for Image:Wiki-metalation.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Wiki-metalation.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:11, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome!
Hi there, ChemistHans, and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm a regular contributor here, and when I notice on the recent changes log that a new editor has registered, I like to send them a welcome message - that's how I ended up on your talk page.
If you haven't edited much here before, there are a few useful links that you might want to look at, designed to help newcomers learn the ropes:
Here are a few features of Wikipedia that I find particularly helpful:
-
-
- If you leave a message on a talk page, you can sign it with four tildes (~~~~), which will automatically produce your name and a date stamp when you save the page
- The "Show preview" button allows you to look at what your post will look like before you save it - that way, you can proofread what you've written and not have to back and correct spelling mistakes, failed links, etc.
- You can create a watchlist for yourself that will keep a record of any changes made to a page that interests you.
-
There are plenty of other features and facets of Wikipedia, many of which I probably haven't even discovered myself, so have fun looking around and finding them.
If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.
Again, welcome! - Tapir Terrific, 19:38, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Wiki-metalation.gif
Hi there, thanks for the great image! I was wondering if a more appropriate image file name is possible. Something like Image:Organolithium Reagents Commonly Prepared by Metalation.gif. Also, I was wondering if you could change the color of the header, because it is in the same shade of blue as our internal wikilinks. It is confusing because users (such as me) may think that they *are* wikilinks. Thanks for considering. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 15:04, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- I replaced the image with one with a black title, and with a new name. What happens to the old image? Will it clog up the Wiki servers forever, or was there another way to do this? I couldn't find a way to rename the file and then replace it.ChemistHans (talk) 16:39, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
If you want, I can delete it for you. If it isn't used anytime soon, someone will probably come and delete it too. But don't worry, Wikipedia is not paper. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 17:48, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
