I have cleaned this up a very little bit, and removed a few peacock terms such as "outstanding natural beauty". it still reads rather more like a tourist flyer than an encyclopedia article to me. DES (talk) 16:47, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

IS "Area of Outstanding NB" a DEFRA designation?Rich Farmbrough 14:54 5 March 2006 (UTC).
AONB is designated by the Countryside Agency on behalf of Uk government Rod 17:34, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

I've done some clean up & tried to remove the flowery language - can anyone help with further clean up or can I remove the clean up tag?Rod 16:52, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

Some of the ISBNs in the bibliography are incorrect. All ISBNs should be 10 or 13 digits without spaces. Joe D (t) 22:15, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure the bit about "No spaces" is correct. I thought that the spaces are important parts of the ISBN, i.e. 1 234 56789 0 is a different ISBN from 1 2345 6789 0. Can you point me at a source which says they should be omitted? SP-KP 22:26, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
The ISBN pages suggests they're redundant, and AFAICT the Wikimedia software (and most/all?) online bookstores omit them. Joe D (t) 22:29, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
They are, I believe, redundant, but not meaningless. 1st group says the language, second the publisher, third is a serial, fourth is a checksum. When you're into it, you can "read" a seperated ISBN. Rich Farmbrough 14:53 5 March 2006 (UTC).

[edit] snipe

This should probably be Common Snipe, Gallinago gallinago, but if it is intended to include Jack Snipe, that is not a Gallinago species, jimfbleak 08:58, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks - corrected Rod 09:34, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Featured Article

I don't know why the featured article star isn't coming up at the top of the page. I tried to fix it but I don't want to over edit the page with something that might not work. So if someone would fix that, that would be great. RENTAFOR LET? 04:30, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Denny Island

As I'm not sure why the following addition was made, I moved it here:

For Denny Island, the small island in the Severn estuary, see that article.
