[edit] Strength

Is there some kind of strength index for the game? 208.47.17.91 04:02, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Chess application itself is just a frontend for Sjeng [1]. (Though I'm not sure if it's Sjeng, I've got to check - I remember some talk about GNU Chess instead, maybe that's just in the old versions, as the protocols of these programs aren't that difficult...) --wwwwolf (barks/growls) 08:34, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

If the Chess source code is free, is there some reason it isn't ported to Linux and Windows. Surely, someone would have ported it... --RaviC 19:41, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability

Hello, this particular application is made for every Mac OS X release. I believe it's a notable game because it is a software packaged for a notable computer system. I am also comparing this game with others such as Minesweeper (Windows). RaNdOm26 (talk) 22:01, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Hello and thanks for this explanation. I am not sure I have completely understood the point here: the Super NES is notable but that does not mean all the games for this platform are notables themselves. I mean, it could just be mentioned in the article on Mac OS X, why should it have its own article ? SyG (talk) 10:05, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:OPENSTEP Chess.jpg

Image:OPENSTEP Chess.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Contested Prod

The article has been tagged for notability concerns, as it does not reference reliable third-party sources. It's since been prodded with those same concerns, but the prod has been contested saying that sources are available. I've tried searching myself, but have not been able to find anything. If you are aware of anything to source this article with, please can you add it to the article. Please note that unsourced articles may be flagged for deletion. Many thanks for your time and effort, Gazimoff WriteRead 00:01, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
