- Both. The early Chinese records report a large number of Indian Brahmins living in "the city", plus a much smaller number of Buddhists. Inscriptions are in Sanscrit. The Chinese record customs of clear Indian origin, mostly those which related to kingship and religion. PiCo 04:23, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Menam River
In Thailand Menam is the word for river, but often when talking about Menam one refers to the Chao Phraya River. As that one is the only big river when following the Mun River from its mouth beyond its source I suspect the article actually means that one. andy 16:14, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
