This seems like it would be better as a disambig, or at least with more cohesive defintions. I'll see what I can do.

[edit] Cheating in online gaming
There's a lot of information that could be added to this article, especially surrounding online gaming.
Aimbots, radars, wallhacks, skinhacks, illegal scripts and settings, etc. have all been used in various games by players looking to gain an unfair advantage. One notable user of cheats was a former anticheat admin at CAL back somewhere around 2000-2002. He was banned from competition for two years over that incident. It was written about in a number of gaming sites, and caused CAL a lot of negative publicity. Torinir ( Ding my phone My support calls E-Support Options ) 22:06, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] NPOV
Any chance that whoever put the tag at the top of the article could explain it here? Mglovesfun 00:59, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Unsourced material
I've unfortunately removed this material
"A 2005 survey by the Center for Academic Integrity reported that 70% of American college students admitted to some cheating. ...
"The survey indicated that cheating is also a problem in high schools, where 60% of students in public and parochial schools admitted to plagiarism. Instances occur where teachers and school administrators have been implicated in cheating on tests to improve their students' scores. Generally, an exaggerated emphasis on the significance of performance test scores triggers the motivation to cheat among some individuals."
I can find loads of surveys with citations on the topic, but I can't find this particular survey so I've taken it out and put other ones in. If anyone can find the citation, stick it back in the article. Mglovesfun 15:16, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
also: "Yet another example of cheating in a competition was found in the world-renowned St.Cloud Minnesota 88.1 KVSC 50-hour trivia contest, held February 8th-10th of 2008. A team competing in the contest, Chairleg Of Truth, changed facts on Wikipedia to conceal the answers to many questions asked throughout the competition. The team was then officially dubbed Chairleg of Un-Truth, and subjected to numerous boo's and hisses at the concluding award ceremony." - i'd delete that. sounds rather childish. 84.129.178.62 (talk) 16:52, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Splitting article
Would anyone consider splitting this article into cheating in different domains, rather than small, underdeveloped sections which is what it is now. Mglovesfun 16:43, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Pictures
Could we get some pictures please? --204.113.186.226 16:13, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Relationship
In relationship cheating, there would be 3 people at least. The Cheater:Person cheating, Cheatee: the person being cheated on, and The person who the cheater is cheating with. Is there a name for this third person? I agree that these articles would be better served by being split into different articles. --User:Nightwindzero 15:01, 11 Dec 2006
[edit] Patriots
The part about the New England Patriots "They were rightly fined for flagrantly violating the league rules regarding use of video to obtain an unfair advantage" was somewhat subjective I bolded the words that I find objectionable. Irishwarriorking 21:35, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Institutionalized Cheating (and South Park)
I am an alumnus of a for-profit college. (You have heard of it.) I spent a lot of time in class and I don't really know much about my subject of study. The teachers would tell us ,verbatim, what the answers would be on the multiple-choice tests. (If the answer was "all of the above" we would be told "all of the above.") Most of the "lecture" was just wasting time, having absolutely nothing to do with the subject matter. (I am talking hours at a time here. (And then we took a break. And then it would continue for more hours.))
The most recent episode of South Park, so I have been told that I have been told, was about a teacher who just gives his class the answers and they get good grades. The episode was called Eek, a Penis.
We were not expected to learn anything. 151.201.224.228 (talk) 00:17, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
