Shouldn't we mention Tony Hancock and Railway Cuttings, East Cheam ?

I agree --Davelane (talk) 21:46, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Are you sure that Cheam and North Cheam are separate towns in different boroughs? I live in "North Cheam" and live in the London Borough of Sutton. Is Cheam not in the London Borough of Sutton?

[edit] World War One?

During World War One, many of Cheam's historic buildings and character were destroyed. Only one major building survived, a small white timber framed cottage, called "Whitehall".

This is surely not true, Cheam suffered no significant damage in either WW1 or WW2. Old buildings were replaced by natural development and 1930s road widening. Also numerous old buildings still exist in Cheam as old as Whitehall, such as Red Lion and the Old Cottage. ––richit 16:58, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Small Village

The claim that Cheam is a "small village" is a little odd. In terms of size I'd say it was a large town. Mucky Duck 09:32, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

I agree that Cheam is not small, however it is a village and not a town. –– richit 16:56, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Oh yes, no argument about that: I meant it only in size terms. Your change hits the nail on the head. Mucky Duck 12:11, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nonsuch Palace

Shouldn't this also be mentioned or at least the pages linked to each other - or is this not in Cheam
