Cheyenne East High School is a public secondary institution (grades 9-12) located in Cheyenne, Wyoming and serves Laramie County School District #1. The current principal is Sam Mirich.

[edit] Administrators/Staff
Sam Mirich is the primary and head Principal. Greg Tucker (Echoes Office), Fawn Bartlett (Horizon Office), and Thomas Kreider (Spirit Office) are assistant principals.

In addition to the AP programs found at East, it is also home to the International Bacclaurate program. This program is run by Brian Madland, with help from Dr. Ernie Duran. This program is unique because it brings 9th graders into the high school, the only high school in Cheyenne to currently do so. The program preps Freshman and Sopohomores for the actual program once in 11th grade.

The East High School Football team won the state championship in 2007 and was led by Head Coach Chad Goff. However, the real story came from the East lady Thunder Bird basketball team who after a tough season placed third in state against a tough Rock Springs team. The boys basketball program also does very well and is expected to do great things in the coming season.The East Girl's Soccer Team also finished 2nd in the State this season. East's Primary sport rival is Cheyenne Central.

The forensics team is led by Mr. Michael Starks. The Speech and Debate team has won State and District Sweepstakes for the last eight years. The team also has Mr. Matt Prevedel, Travis Cram, Ms. Ashley Schulz, and Mr. Andy Dennis. The team has also had a long standing reputation in competitions it has attended, both in Wyoming and on a national level. Cheyenne East hosts a "Classic" every year right before Christmas vacation, schools from all over Wyoming and Colorado attend. This year the team has qualified five individuals to go onto the Desert Lights NFL Nationals Competition to compete, held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Activities and Clubs include, but are not limited to : Computer Club, Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, Golf, Boys & Girls Swimming, Boys & Girls Tennis, Wrestling, Boys & Girls Basketball, Indoor & Outdoor Track, Boys & Girls Soccer, Cheerleading, Dance, Art Club, American Sign Language Club, Christian Student Ministries, French Club, German Club, Spanish Club, Key Club, Debate & Forensics, National Honor Society, Student Council, Chess Club, Drill Team, Thunderwarriors, Gay-Straight Alliance, Band, Choir, Orchestra, Marching Band, Strolling Strings, Drama, Mock Trial, We the People, DECA, FBLA, VICA, FCCLA, FFA.
The two largest clubs in the school are Band, with the most members, and Marching Band with the second most amount of members
