Chevron is the recording name of Jonathan Valentine. Hailing from Blackpool in the UK, he began making rave and techno from an early age, at school and college. There he fell in love with the sounds of Mike Paradinas' well regarded Planet Mu label. To which he got signed in 2003, with his first 7" "Swimmin' Lessons"

He played many shows, including the legendary Kraked Squat Party, with artists such as Venetian Snares and Shitmat. Further releases on Planet Mu followed in 2004 as well as a European Tour with Ceephax Acid Crew.

Chevron's highly anticipated debut album "Everything's Exactly The Same" was released on Valentines Day in 2005, to outstanding reviews and extensive radio play. "Crimson" on US label Terminal Dusk also featured a track. He performed in the Overkill tent at UK dance festival "The Glade". In 2006 Chevron appeared on the "Sacred Symbols of Mu" Mu sampler. Mike Paradinas and Chevron remixed Shitmat on the three track "Gary’s Gruesome Garage" EP. The summer saw not one but three memorable performances at "The Glade" festival and a subsequent release on the first Overkill compilation featured The Bug, Exile and Vex'd.

Residing in Brighton since 2003 with "Wrong Music Records" boss Shitmat. Chevron finally released "Rave Like A Bastard" as "Chevvers"; a split 12" with Lancastrian speedcore producer Oen-Flux. Several samplers followed.

Chevrons "Tuff Shite" EP on Berlin breakcore label Ad Noiseam kicked off 2008. Acid tracks are planned on Marguerita's uber-cool "030303" series and the long awaited follow up Planet Mu album "Lifeshake".

[edit] Reviews

"Chevron, AKA Jonathan Valentine, clearly has talent and imagination to spare. If you can imagine a middle ground between Plaid, DJ Rupture's reconstructed ragga and the mystical techno of the Red Planet label, then you might just have the vaguest idea what to expect - but music this original and this inspiring deserves to be heard, and not just imagined." iDJ

"What do you get if you take a fistful of Acid House, a smattering of Venetian Snares and a tablespoon of Jungle, stick it in the blender then garnish the results with a side-order of Aphex acid? Chevron, that's what!" Boomkat
