Chesterfield High School is a public high school in Chesterfield, South Carolina serving student from ninth through twelfth grades. In 2007, the school was given a Palmetto Gold Award for excellence by the Palmetto Gold & Silver Program. In 2006, students at Chesterfield High scored an average of 1022 on their SATs, one point higher than the US average of 1021, in a state which ranks 49th in SAT scores nationally.[1][2]

On Saturday, April 19, 2008, a student was turned in to the authorities by his parents for planning to bomb the school in an apparent Columbine High School copycat attack.[3]

Chesterfield High has won 4 state championships in wrestling, 2004, 2005, 2006(runner up), 2007, and 2008. Chesterfield also is home of the all-time South Carolina leader in career wrestling wins, Dalton Harper, Harper was also the first 1A wrestler to win an individual state championship all four year of high school. Chesterfield also won the 2007 1A Football State Championship, they were runner ups in 2006, they are coached by former University of South Carolina quarterback, Steve Taneyhill. Chesterfield's varsity baseball coach, Jimmy Weatherford, captured his 400th career win in 2008.
