Chesterfield is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It is a marginal seat between the Liberal Democrats and Labour.

It includes most of the town of Chesterfield and neighbours the Bolsover and North East Derbyshire constituencies.
[edit] History
The constituency was long a Labour stronghold,with strong associations with the nearby Yorkshire city of Sheffield, but after Tony Benn stepped down, it became the Liberal Democrats' first seat in the East Midlands in the 2001 General Election.
